FCH Annals: Journal of the Florida Conference of Historians

Guidelines for Submitting to the FCH Annals

At the conclusion of each annual meeting, the Senior Editor will ask participants if they would like their papers to be considered for publication.  Authors must provide their most recent contact information and upload the manuscript on the FCH website.  The editorial board reviews all submissions and has prepared a style sheet.  In general, papers should be formatted according to the Chicago Manual of Style and should be between 4,000 and 10,000 words, including footnotes.  For undergraduate authors and their faculty mentors, please read the FCH Statement of Expectations for Undergraduate Authors.  Selected papers will be published and distributed during the following year's annual meeting.  For inquiries about the journal, contact the Senior Editor.

Current and Past Issues of the FCH Annals

In 1993, the Florida Conference of Historians began publishing the Selected Annual Proceedings, a peer-reviewed journal of select papers presented at the annual meeting.  In 2011, FCH board members changed the name to the FCH Annals: Journal of the Florida Conference of Historians.  The journal is listed in the American Historical Association's Directory of History Journals and is currently housed in the Department of Social Sciences at Florida Gulf Coast University.  Current and past issues of the FCH Annals and the Proceedings are available for viewing and for downloading in PDF format.

FCH Paper Awards

Papers published in the FCH Annals are eligible to compete for awards in several categories: the Thomas M. Campbell Award (professional level, including faculty and independent scholars), the Blaine Blaine Browne Award (graduate student level), and the J.
